Today, after completing the lecture, we moved to the Barnes-Franklin Art Gallery to view the work of Lisa Macbride and Liza Martin. This on-campus “field trip” was for our third (and last) non-quiz in-class assignment.
The Assignment
- Pick one work of Macbrides and one work of Martins and, based BOTH on the work itself and the statements made by the artists, explain how each of the two works chosen can be associated with styles or specific artists covered this semester.Determine what elements from any of the styles (or artists) are present in the work or that the artist’s methods/explanations would indicate. Then write, a minimum of two paragraphs, on how your two works illustrate elements of those styles or artists. Be specific.
- Finally, compare and contrast the two styles of these artists based on their work as a whole.Again, use the subject matter of the work, manner/method of execution, and the artist statements to complete this. Be specific and be clear.
Make sure you
- Type your paper (I will not accept anything handwritten)
- Include your name
- The title of the work you chose.
